Jim Jones has over forty years executive leadership experience in community based behavioral health services, and prior to joining Integrity Health Strategies, he operated his own successful behavioral health consulting company for six years.  Jim has expert knowledge of how behavioral health public policy and private market forces impact health care providers.
He has interviewed over 300 executive, financial, clinical program managers and line staff while conducting management systems efficiency audits. These reviews have been designed to address the organization’s potential for managing the changes necessary to successfully compete in the evolving healthcare market place. Information gained from in depth staff interviews has provided Jim with insights that are helpful in recommending strategies for addressing the requirements of the new Affordable Care Act, partnering with Accountable Care Organizations, and shifting from a fee for service reimbursement system to one of risk sharing. His “Readiness Reviews” are a product of this experience and his ongoing research of current market trends.
Prior to his consulting practice his experience has included 5 years as a Department Manager in a private psychiatric hospital, the Director of Psychiatric Services for a county hospital and Administrator of the hospital’s new community behavioral health organization. He then became the first CEO of a free standing comprehensive behavioral health provider which also operated its own inpatient hospital unit.  As CEO of a third community behavioral health provider he succeeded in performing a turnaround of the organization which was on a path of financial and program failure.

Jim was then recruited by his peers to lead a statewide trade association of 30 community behavioral health providers where he represented the members in contract, budget, and regulatory negotiations with various department heads of state government.  In addition he represented provider concerns as a registered lobbyist with the Indiana legislature. Jim has also been a member of the Indiana University adjunct faculty where he taught mental health administration.  He is an adept public speaker and has made hundreds of educational and training presentations to nonprofit boards, provider staff, and legislators.
He received Governor Appointments to serve on the Indiana Medicaid Advisory Board and the Indiana Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Board.  For his public service, he was awarded one of the state’s most prestigious honors, a Sagamore of the Wabash, by Indiana Governor Evan Bayh.
